Welcome to the website for Stoke Damerel Parish Church in Plymouth.

You will find information here relating to the church building, people, worship services, our parish centre and related activities, as well as a link to St Aubyn’s our sister parish in Devonport.

Stoke Damerel is one of the oldest churches in Plymouth – there has been worship on this site for more than seven hundred years. We represent a broad tradition of liberal catholic Anglicanism, centred on our Sunday Eucharist, with an emphasis on mission especially among the vulnerable in the local community and in the city.

A central biblical image for us is contained in St Matthew’s story of the sheep and goats:

The righteous will reply, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and fed you, or thirsty and gave you drink, a stranger and took you home, or naked and clothed you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and come and visit you?” And the king will answer, “Truly, I tell you: anything you did for one of my brothers [and sisters] here, however insignificant, you did for me.” (Matt. 25 37-40)
